A.V.N. is the name of my makeup final's creature. It's name stands for Alpha Vacancy Nurturer. It is a celestial being responsible for keeping the avian species alive after an attempted genocide of the animal kingdom on the planet Gian Minor.
Here is my first picture dump of inspiration:
A basic anatomical breakdown of a bird; a nice and clean colour palate; a defined, protruding beak. |
A feathery arrangement attached to a headband with netting. |
Eyeliner drawn on reminiscent of the silhouette of a bird. |
My step-grandmother always told me my hair was a bird's nest...this little girl reminds me of what I imagine my hair looked like. |
Side profile of a blue bird. |
The arrangement of the hair and the feathery perimeter of the eye makeup remind me of a bird. |
While it reminds me more of Egypt than birds, the being is celestial, so signs and markings should probably become a factor in the design. |
Special effects work has been done to this picture, but I like how the use of light above dark creates this glowing aura that a god-creature might emit. |
Harlequin-esque, yes, but the undefined and fading edges almost makes the colours look like they're natural to the skin. |
I love how this bird is so disproportionate s well as the colour of its head. |
The incorporation of feathers, makeup, sharp lines, and round jewels creates a majestic and impressive presence. |
The sharp beak, technicolored body, and faerie-like wings makes this little hummingbird appear to be a graceful and overwhelming force. |
The eye makeup here is simple, but it works to create a featherlike appearance at the brow bone. |
The colour combination of this bird is almost comical, but very enticing, as well. Most birds have such distinct colours to attract mates, but a god-bird wouldn't need mates, so I'm thinking the transformation will be more about making my face look like a bird and less like a colourful work of feathers. |
The build of the floral hair piece looks a bit like a nest and the falling net and simple palate creates a stark and serene elegance. |
Very detailed makeup work. It almost has a Starry Night by van Gogh look to it. |
I love how the bird is nesting in a branch work that looks like a cameo. |
